Filosofia e Judaísmo em Levinas

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar o pensamento do filósofo lituano, radicado na França, Emmanuel Levinas, sob a perspectiva de duas tradições distintas formando o pano de fundo de onde emergem conceitos importantes de sua filosofia. Por um lado, a tradição filosófica hegemônica, sobretudo, a vertente fenomenológica com a qual entrou em contato logo após seus primeiros anos de formação acadêmica em Strasbourg, na França. Por outro, a tradição judaica religiosa herdada do seio familiar bem como a filosofia desenvolvida entre os judeus, em especial, a renovação do pensamento judaico a partir Hermann Cohen seguido de Franz Rosenzweig. Cultivado em ambas as tradições, Emmanuel Levinas irá desenvolver um pensamento situado em suas fronteiras, preservando suas especificidades e as tensões inerentes ao encontro de duas visões de mundo díspares, abrindo por meio deste procedimento novas direções ao filosofar, impossíveis sem a permanente intriga entre Filosofia e Judaísmo.

This academic work aims to present the lithuanian philosofers's thought, French-based, Emmanuel Levinas, under the perspective of two distinct traditions, forming the background from where important concepts from his philosophy emerges. On the one hand, the hegemonic philosophy tradition, mainly, the phenomenological strand with which got in touch soon after his early years of academic formation in Strasbourg, at France. On the other hand, the Jewish religious tradition inherited from his family as well as the philosophy developed among the Jews, especially, the renewal of Jewish thought from Hermann Cohen followed by Franz Rosenzweig. Grown in both traditions, Emmanuel Levinas will develop a thought situated on his borders, preserving his specifics and the inherent tensions to meet two distinct world vision, opening through this procedure new directions in philosophizing, impossible without the permanente intrigue between Philosophy and Judaism.
