O Surgimento da Parada Gay na Cidade de São Paulo (1997)

Abstract

The present work is a study on the emergence of the Gay Parade in the city of São Paulo in 1997. It aims to understand their relationship with the homosexual movement prior to its realization and with the advent of Aids. There is an effort to understand the dynamics of homosexual movements of the 80s, and the reorganization of homosexual militancy in the 90s of the past century. For that, besides the literature, we conducted interviews with personalities who were involved with the homosexual movement at some point in their lives. Such an approach has been developed from a concept that has the oral history of official life of the speaker, and do not intend to imply that these reports the veracity of the facts, but check questions regarding the appearance of the Gay Parade and its organization.

O presente trabalho é um estudo sobre o surgimento da Parada Gay da cidade de são Paulo no ano de 1997. Pretendemos compreender sua relação com o movimento homossexual anterior à sua realização e com o advento da Aids. Há um esforço no sentido de compreender a dinâmica dos movimentos homossexuais da década de 80, e da reorganização da militância homossexual na década de 90 do século passado. Para isso, além da bibliografia, realizamos entrevistas com personalidades que estiveram envolvidas com o movimento homossexual em algum momento de suas vidas. Tal abordagem foi elaborada a partir de uma concepção que tem na oralidade a história de vida oficial do orador, sendo que não pretendemos atribuir a esses relatos a veracidade dos fatos, mas sim verificar questões referentes ao surgimento da Parada Gay e à sua organização.
