Abstract: The volume of textual data generated in idea management platforms has made the evaluation of this information, carried out manually, time-consuming and expensive. Although the literature reports the importance of using data and text mining tools for the evaluation of ideas, few studies use such mechanisms to support managers in decision making. The objective of this research is to evaluate the potential for implementing ideas aligned to the organizational context, proposing a model based on these tools. To determine the relevance of each idea, external information sources were used to assist in the generation of indexes, including: the adherence index to the organizational context, the currentness index, the originality index and the technology index. These four indices make up the idea's potentiality index at the end. The representation of the domain occurred through an ontology, validated by a group of specialists. For the evaluation stage of the proposed model, a prototype was developed applied in two study scenarios, as well as tests were carried out with supervised models and a questionnaire was evaluated by experts. The first study scenario was composed of ideas collected from the Sinapse da Inovação® program and information extracted from the promotion notice in order to compose the organizational context. In this scenario, during the text mining stage, the proposed model produced approximately 70% assertiveness in the selection of implemented ideas and obtained 80% assertiveness in the indication of groups of potential ideas when the main groupings were analyzed. The second study scenario involved ideas contained in the collection #MosquitoNo promoted by the Ministry of Education. In this scenario, the objective of the analysis was to identify the characteristics of the formation of clusters and, from there, to analyze the indices generated by the prototype regardless of the organizational context, emphasizing the generality and applicability of the model. With the results obtained, it can be said that the proposed model allows assessing the potential for implementing ideas aligned with strategic themes related to the organizational context. This occurs in aspects such as the reduction of effort during the evaluation of ideas, as well as the promotion of indications about the potential of their implementation. It intends to support experts in the evaluation and selection of which ideas will be put into practice, optimizing the organizational resources
