Com a mudança da função do hospital ocorrida no século XX, deixou-se de abrigar os enfermos,
loucos, devassos e prostitutas para promover um novo modelo centrado na atenção à saúde. Com
toda a tecnologia a seu favor, houve um esquecimento da humanização e a ideia de conforto foi
alterada. Logo, as limitações, devido às dimensões das máquinas, salas limpas, exames clínicos e
demais tecnologias dos EAS foram privilegiadas. Este artigo tem como objetivo discutir o uso de
soluções de ventilação natural, com o intuito de verificar seus benefícios não somente no que se
refere ao conforto ambiental, mas também como a ventilação natural pode interferir nas condições
físicas e psicológicas dos usuários desses espaços. Para tal usamos a revisão bibliográfica, focando
nas questões relativas ao conforto do usuário, evolução da ventilação natural nos edifícios de saúde
e conforto climático da edificação. With the change of the function of the hospital occurred in the twentieth century, the sick, mad,
debauchery and prostitutes were left to shelter a new model focused on health care. With all the
technology in its favor, there was a forgetfulness of humanization and the idea of comfort was
altered. Therefore, the limitations due to the size of the machines, clean rooms, clinical exams and
other EAS technologies were privileged. This article aims to discuss the use of natural ventilation
solutions in order to verify its benefits not only in terms of environmental comfort, but also how
natural ventilation can interfere in the physical and psychological conditions of the users of these
spaces. For this we use the literature review, focusing on the issues related to user comfort,
evolution of natural ventilation in health buildings and climatic comfort of the building.
