With this work we sought to discuss aspects related to the importance of illustration
in children's books for the formation of the reader subject. The need for research
emerged with the aim of understanding the inferences that book illustrations
children bring to the reader's life and how it contributes to their formation
as a person, for the unveiling of their reality and for the development of
their learning, with this we seek to have a better understanding of the contact
of the infant with the symbolic world of children's literature and contribute to a greater
development of reading practices in this area. In this context, it was considered
necessary to make some reflections about the importance of children's literature in the
reader training, as well as illustration to stimulate a taste for reading.
Due to the topic addressed, reading it may be interesting to teachers of the
initial years, of Portuguese Language and Literature, undergraduate academics and the
who are most interested in the topic.
