sintomatolog?a; as? mismo, el 28,2% present? ideaci?n suicida y el 5,1% la intencionalidad;
bajo. Suicidal ideation is the initial phase of suicidal behavior, which is a world-wide public health problem; Therefore, it is of great importance in the prevention of consummate suicide. Because of this, research from an early age is considered pertinent in order to establish promotion and prevention programmes to reduce suicide rates. This research aims to describe the presence of suicidal ideation in children of three public institutions of the city of Ibagu? from a descriptive-exploratory cross-sectional study, in which participated 39 children in an age range of 7 to 15 years, to whom the inventory of childhood depression was applied; In addition, a sociodemographic file was used for guardians of the minor.
In the analysis of results it was found that from the two scales evaluated in the CDI the population presents a severe symptomatology of 15.4% in the scale of dysphoria, of 12.9% in negative self-esteem and in total depression 26% presents this symptomatology; Likewise, 28.2% presented suicidal ideation and 5.1% intentionality; Only 5 of the children presented severe symptoms of depression and at the same time intentionality or suicidal ideation, which were characterized by having low academic performance, difficulties to maintain attention and a low socioeconomic stratum.
