Resumen: El objetivo del presente trabajo es describir y analizar los estilos de implicación parental en la iniciación deportiva competitiva de niños nadadores. La muestra estuvo conformada por 104 niños (60.4% varones y 39.6% mujeres), entre 9 y 15 años que practican natación, como deporte extracurricular a nivel competitivo, en clubes de Capital Federal y GBA (M=11.96; DE=1.80). El instrumento de recoleccion de datos es el Cuestionario de Implicación Parental en el Deporte (Pinto & Samaniego, 2016). Los resultados obtenidos indican que los niños perciben y desean por parte de sus padres, en primer lugar, Apoyo y Comprensión, seguido por Implicación Activa y, Comportamiento Directivo en último lugar. A su vez se observa que desean mayor Comportamiento Directivo de madre y padre, como Implicación Activa de madre y padre, y Apoyo y Comprensión del padre.Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze parental involvement styles in competitive sports initiation of swimming children. The sample consisted of 104 children (60.4% men and 39.6% women), between 9 and 15 years old who practice swimming, as an extracurricular sport at a competitive level, in clubs of Capital Federal and GBA (M= 1.96; SD=1,80). The data collection instrument is the Parental Involvement in Sports Questionnaire (Pinto & Samaniego, 2016). The results obtained indicate that children perceive and want from their parents, first, Support and Understanding, followed by Active Involvement and, at last, Directing Behavior. At the same time, it is observed that they want greater Directive Behavior from mother and father, such as Active Involvement of mother and father, and Support and Understanding of their father.
