El artículo atiende a los novedosos estudios “genéticos directos al consumidor” y a la necesidad de reflexionar en torno a la utilidad y alcances, en la era de la revolución genética y del Big Data, del consentimiento informado tradicional, instrumento de indiscutible relevancia en el Derecho Nacional y Comparado en materia sanitaria y de investigación con seres humanos, pero que presentaría limitaciones para garantizar el respeto a los principios de autonomía, privacidad y confidencialidad. Abstract: This article refers to the relatively new "direct to consumer genetic tests" and the need to ponder on the usefulness and scope, in the context of the rapidly evolving genetic and Big Data era, of the traditional informed consent, an instrument of indisputable relevance in national and comparative health law and research involving human subjects regulations, that would show to have limitations to ensure respect for the principles of autonomy, privacy and confidentiality.
