ABSTRACT: The consumption of energy drinks has increased considerably among young people in recent years, due to the high academic or work loads they are facing, added to this there are the media, which advertise drinks composed of caffeine, carbohydrates, guarana extract, taurine, ingredients that increase endurance and mental activity and reduce sleep, however many of its components are associated with diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, anxiety, increased heart rate and obesity. Excessive consumption of energy drinks can lead to addiction in the population that consumes them, in turn, at the time of quitting, the body requires a recovery time with a side effect such as abstinence to eliminate dependence on their consumption. The project aimed to identify sleep disorders associated with excessive consumption of energy drinks in students through data collection in the student population of the School of Medicine.
