ABSTRACT: Changes in paradigms around family typologies give rise to the study of one-parent families and rearing practices. This investigation contemplates understanding these breeding practices, particularly those with a dominant female chief. The qualitative study emphasizes phenomenology and a socio-demographic description of the engaged participants in Medellin, Colombia. Eighteen mono-parenting mothers were surveyed and interviewed between 2020 and 2021. It was concluded that economic difficulties, as well as the social environment, have affections on the breeding process. These women have to make quits and take fights to become economic pillars and supporters with multiple tasks, making breeding authoritarian and often negligent. They search between their closest support systems for help with the breeding process and usually search through the sea and earth for money in order to be the family's economic support.
