RESUMEN: Los análisis de obsolescencia en las instituciones de salud representan un proceso importante a la hora de verificar el estado actual de los equipos en servicio. Por lo anterior se realizó la respectiva evaluación de obsolescencia en las áreas de Urgencias y Hospitalización Quirúrgica, para poder identificar en qué estado se encontraba los equipos y si era necesario hacer una renovación de tecnología. Primero se identificó los equipos existentes en cada uno de los servicios, posterior a esto se realizó una priorización y por último, con los equipos obtenidos luego de la priorización se realiza la evaluación donde se tienen en cuenta aspectos técnicos, clínicos y económicos que da como resultado si el equipo esta óptimo para el servicio o aplica para renovación tecnológica. Del anterior análisis se obtuvo que los equipos presentes pueden seguir prestando un servicio normal y no presentan ningún riesgo para la institución; aunque, se presentaron unas excepciones donde equipos ya por antigüedad y un número alto de correctivos en el año deben entrar en el plan de renovación a plazo máximo de un año. Pero mientras se hace esta renovación estos equipos pueden seguir prestando servicio, con una supervisión constante por parte del personal de ingeniería.
