Efecto del tratamiento con microondas en la molienda en seco

RESUMEN: La molienda de coque representa para la industria siderúrgica, aproximadamente un 70% del valor de los costos en materias primas para el acero. Con el objetivo de reducir estos valores, se han implementado diferentes alternativas para disminuir los requerimientos energéticos en esta etapa del proceso, la radiación por microondas es uno de ellos, puesto que, mediante el mecanismo de transferencia de calor, permite generar micro fallas en la estructura del material, que posteriormente favorezcan una fractura más eficiente. De acuerdo con la importancia del coque metalúrgico en la industria de la construcción y a la necesidad existente de implementar un proceso más eficiente con menores requerimientos energéticos, se propuso la evaluación de la incorporación de las microondas como tratamiento previo a la molienda con molino de bolas del coque metalúrgico y su influencia en la moliendabilidad del material. Para la determinación de la experimentación, con el fin de encontrar condiciones adecuadas, para lo cual se realizó una irradiación del material a una potencia de 1600 W de 5, 10, 15 segundos y posteriormente molienda de 2 minutos para cada uno de las muestras, se encontró que el P80 de la alimentación con respecto a las muestras irradiadas son reducidas en un 15.10%, 15.274 % y 16.22% respectivamente representando de esta forma la absorción de las microondas por el coque, con un consumo de energía del microondas de 8.78, 17.56 y 26.35 kWh /Ton respectivamente lo que permitió alcanzar fracturas en el límite del grano en tiempos pequeños y a su vez una reducción significativa en el tamaño de partícula.
