Guía de buenas prácticas para la ejecución del ensayo geofísico de refracción MASW

RESUMEN: En los proyectos de infraestructura, es importante estudiar el comportamiento mecánico de los suelos para determinar su rigidez y resistencia. Para ello se requiere la ejecución de métodos de exploración geofísica para caracterizar la estratigrafía del suelo. Entre los ensayos geofísicos, se encuentra el método de análisis multicanal de ondas de superficie (MASW). Este ensayo determina la estratigrafía del suelo de forma indirecta basándose en el cambio de las propiedades dinámicas que conforman el suelo. En la ejecución del ensayo MASW, se presentan factores y condiciones que alteran la adquisición de datos y conllevan a errores de resultados. Por tanto, para mitigar los errores, se requieren conocer las condiciones de campo que tienen un efecto significativo en la toma de medidas. En este estudio se caracterizan los conceptos, condiciones y limitaciones del ensayo MASW, se identifican las variables más influyentes en la adquisición de datos y se establecen recomendaciones para ejecución del ensayo con base a seis proyectos de estudios de suelos en zonas urbanas y suburbanas del Área Metropolitana del Valle de Aburrá.
