Anexos. 24 Only 43 out of 100 rural graduates immediately access higher education. The enrollment of graduates from the rural sector shows a downward trend where fewer students from this sector are observed who access professional studies. This phenomenon is presented in the graduates of the San Isidro Rural Educational Center, representing a serious social problem that limits the development of the subject and the community. With this project we will identify the sociocultural factors that prevent access to higher education for graduates from the years 2018 to 2020 of the San Isidro de Galán Santander Rural Educational Center. A qualitative research with a narrative design was carried out, through a semi-structured interview with a life history approach, where three participants who accessed higher education and three who did not were taken. The selection of the six participants was carried out through a type-case and snowball sampling, where it was observed that the main socio-cultural factors that impede access to HE are the personal, family, educational, and economic factors, the which were analyzed through the Urie Brofrenbrener theory where the microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem and macrosystem are found.
