Anexos. 31 The number of users and the time dedicated to social networks (SN) has increased in recent years. In this context, this research aims to establish what is the incidence of excessive use of social networks in social isolation resulting from the problematic use of cell phones in undergraduate students between 18 and 35 years old living in the departments of Cundinamarca, Boyacá and Meta? The specific objectives correspond to: (i) describe the approach from clinical psychology to the excessive use of RS and cell phones, identifying possible strategies for their treatment; (ii) identify the prevalence of problematic cell phone use and RS addictive behavior in undergraduate students between 18 and 35 years old living in Cundinamarca, Boyacá and Meta, by means of the application of (a) the "Mobile Phone Problem Use Scale (MPPUS-10)" adapted by Foerster et al, (2015) and (b) the "Addiction to Social Networks Questionnaire (ARS)" by Escurra and Salas (2014); (iii) explaining the relationships between the three dimensions of the "Addiction to Social Networks Questionnaire (ARS)" (interest in RS (IRS), concern about lack of control (PFC) and excessive use of RS (UERS)) with social isolation derived from problematic cell phone use. For this purpose, a mixed research was employed. The qualitative part has a descriptive scope, its design is narrative and is based on the documentary review of academic literature published between 2015 and 2022, axial coding was used for its analysis. For its part, the quantitative component corresponds to a cross-sectional, non-experimental, explanatory and correlational design. The statistical analysis techniques used were: (a) descriptive, (b) multivariate Henze-Zirkler normality test and univariate Shapiro-Wilk test, (c) since the normality condition was not met, non-parametric statistics were used, specifically Spearman's correlation and the Kruskal-Wallis test. The main findings of the study included the following: (i) the intervention and mitigation strategies identified in the literature review are mainly focused on: prevention programs and family support strategies that include strengthening the self-esteem of young people; (ii) the prevalence of problematic cell phone use in the sample was 15.46% and high intensity in the use of SR (25.96%); (iii) the prevalence of problematic cell phone use in the sample was 15.46% and high intensity in the use of SR (25.96%); (iv) the prevalence of problematic cell phone use in the sample was 15.46%. 96%); (iii) age and geographic differences were factors that explain statistically significant differences, while gender and stratum did not; (iv) statistical results showed a positive and significant relationship with the dimensions of the Escurra and Salas (2014) instrument: Interest in RS (IRS), Concern about lack of control (FC), and Excessive use of RS (UER). From all of the above, it is derived that the MPPUS-10 is a simple and short tool that allows the detection of problematic cell phone use and can be linked to excessive use of RS.
