El objetivo del presente artículo es analizar las problemáticas que limitan el desarrollo efectivo de las cadenas de abastecimiento en el sector agroindustrial en Colombia. Para cumplir con este objetivo, en primer lugar, se plantea un análisis sobre las funciones y principios asociados a las cadenas de abastecimiento a nivel mundial. Posteriormente, se presenta el estado actual de la agroindustria en el mundo, para posteriormente explicar las condiciones que orientan el desarrollo de las cadenas de abastecimiento en la agroindustria colombiana. Para ello, se parte de una revisión de literatura en artículos e investigaciones que establezcan una discusión académica sobre los temas que se han señalado. También se toman en cuenta fuentes oficiales del Estado colombiano, que permitan conocer, mediante datos y cifras, la actualidad del sector agroindustrial. En conjunto, este análisis es clave para reconocer la importancia de promover el tema de las cadenas de abastecimiento en el campo, considerando los procesos y actividades que generan sobrecostos y que limitan las oportunidades de desarrollo en el sector rural.The objective of this article is to analyze the problems that limit the effective development of supply chains in the agro-industrial sector in Colombia. To fulfill this objective, first, is made an analysis above the functions and principles associated with global supply chains. Subsequently, is presented the current state of agribusiness in the world, to later explain the conditions that guide the development of supply chains in the Colombian agroindustry. For this, it is based on a review of literature in articles and research that establish an academic discussion on the topics that have been pointed out. Official sources of the Colombian State are also taken into account, which allow to know, by means of data and figures, the current situation of the agroindustrial sector. Taken together, this analysis is key to recognizing the importance of promoting the issue of supply chains in the field, considering the processes and activities that generate cost overruns and that limit opportunities for development in the rural sector.
