Ferrites are mixed iron oxides with excellent magnetic properties, high surface area, diversity of sizes and morphology, among other properties, which makes them interesting to be used in different applications such as: manufacture of electronic materials, heterogeneous catalysts, biosensors, biocompatible materials in medical applications, among others. This research project aims to synthesize nickel ferrite nanoparticles, by the sol gel method, to then evaluate their structural properties. The ferrites obtained were mainly characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (MEB) and transition (MET). Different conditions of synthesis were tested, varying the proportion of the chelating agent, temperatures of synthesis and calcination, in order to establish the mostsuitable conditions of synthesis to develop the desired material in the conditions of the laboratories in the U.D.C.A, so that the material can be used, at a later stage, in heterogeneous catalysis.
