Resumen
Cardiovascular disease implies an immense public health problem around the globe. Likewise, violence carries a multidimensional series of negative socioeconomic outcomes. This paper uses fixed effects for panel data models to characterise the relationship between homicide and cardiac arrest in Colombia’s municipalities. A positive relation is found between municipal death by heart attack rates and homicide rates. Results are preliminary and further investigation is required to ascertain these findings.
