29 p.Esta investigaci?n aborda dos categor?as de estudio: Capital cultural y Rendimiento acad?mico, desde la postura te?rica del soci?logo franc?s Pierre Bourdieu (1987) en el contexto acad?mico de los estudiantes del programa de Sociolog?a de la Universidad del Tolima. De esta manera, se realiza un rastreo bibliogr?fico sobre investigaciones a nivel internacional y nacional relacionadas con el tema de investigaci?n a fin de ilustrar hallazgos similares en diferentes contextos que permitan identificar la correlaci?n entre la variable Capital cultural y Rendimiento acad?mico. Posteriormente se define la metodolog?a de la investigaci?n, que para el caso particular es de car?cter cuantitativo en tanto que permite recolectar informaci?n primaria y secundaria con miras a cumplir el objetivo dispuesto: determinar la relaci?n entre Capital cultural y Rendimiento acad?mico en los estudiantes del programa de Sociolog?a de la Universidad del Tolima en el semestre A del a?o 2019. Finalmente, se plantean los resultados esperados y algunas recomendaciones para posibles investigaciones que se adelanten a partir esta investigaci?n exploratoria.This research addresses two categories of study: Cultural Capital and Academic Performance, from the theoretical position of the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu (1987) in the academic context of the students of the Sociology program of the University of Tolima. In this way, a bibliographic search is carried out on international and national research related to the research topic in order to illustrate similar findings in different contexts that allow identifying the correlation between the variable Cultural Capital and Academic Performance. Subsequently, the research methodology is defined, which for the particular case is quantitative in that it allows the collection of primary and secondary information with a view to fulfilling the objective set forth: determining the relationship between Cultural Capital and Academic Performance in the students of the program of Sociology of the University of Tolima in semester A of the year 2019. Finally, the expected results and some recommendations for possible investigations that are advanced from this exploratory investigation are presented.
