| dc.description | El objetivo de este artículo es analizar las representaciones sociales sobre el delito y la violencia en la ciudad de Rio Branco, Acre, Brasil. A partir de entrevistas y encuestas, y desde la perspectiva de la Teoría de las Representaciones Sociales, esta investigación indaga y intenta comprender las visiones de funcionarios estatales sobre la criminalidad organizada, además de las narrativas de los residentes de la ciudad respecto al delito y a la inseguridad en el contexto de la ocupación de la ciudad por facciones criminales. Nuestro análisis se ha centrado en a) mapear los datos sobre la aparición de facciones criminales en Rio Branco y las representaciones sociales ofrecidas por los expertos en el tema; b) analizar las representaciones sobre el delito y la inseguridad presentadas por los residentes del barrio Belo Jardim, descrito como el más violento, y el barrio Vilage Wilde Maciel, oficialmente menos violento, tomando en cuenta las muertes violentas intencionales y el dominio por facciones; c) investigar el sentimiento de miedo al delito y de inseguridad, y si corresponden a la realidad del barrio donde se vive; d) identificar lo que los participantes representan como posibles cambios en su vida desde la aparición de facciones criminales. | |
| dc.description | This paper aims to analyze the social representations of crime and violence in the city of Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil. The research seeks to understand, through interviews and surveys, from the perspective of the Theory of Social Representations, the different views offered by civil servants on organized crime as well as residents' narratives on crime and insecurity, in the context of occupation of the city by criminal organizations. The analysis will focus on: a) mapping the data available on the emergence of criminal organizations in Rio Branco and the social representations of these organizations conveyed by experts; b) analyzing the representations of crime and insecurity of residents in the Belo Jardim neighborhood, described as the most violent, and the Vilage Wilde Maciel neighborhood, officially the least violent, taking into account the number of intentional violent deaths and the dominance of criminal groups; c) discussing whether citizens' feelings of fear of crime and insecurity correspond or change according to the reality of the neighborhood they live in; d) identifying what residents represent as possible changes in their life since the rise of such criminal organizations. | |
