Resumen
The present research aimed at the design of an avitourism product in the El Altar village, Penipe canton, Chimborazo province. A descriptive analytical methodology was used to determine the tourism baseline of the viillage, for which the analysis was stipulated by the components of the tourism system, then the ornithological inventory was made by georeferencing the frails of the village El Altar, through standardized methods: counting points and line transects, through observation in the field and contrast with the guides of: Aves de Ecuador (Roberto S.), Birds of Ecuador-Navarrete, and Helm Field Guides Birds of Ecuador (Juan F. and Robin Restall). In addition, the avifaunal diversity was also analyzed by means of the application index, and the analysis of species richness and abundance was carried out, and they were registered in the card where their names were detailed: scientific, English and their common name, size, feeding guild, as well as habitat and behavior, to finally make the graph of the species accumulation curve, and calculate the sampling effort carried out; Therefore the technical and economic-financial study was developed. It was evidenced that the study arca has infrastructure and tourist facilities to receive the demand, 1067 individuals were identified with a richness of 44 species of birds, showing a richness of birdlife that can be used for the development of tourism, which will promote the conservation of natural resources of the local community. To sum up, El Altar village has a great tourist potential reflected in its natural and cultural resources. The implementation of the project and the maintenance of the trails designated for tourism are recommended.
