medicamentos no antimicrobianos.
Ceftazidima 0.19%, Ceftazidima-Avibactam 0.65%, Ceftriaxona 1.54%,
Ciprofloxacino 6.25%, Claritromicina 0.52%, Colistina 15.19%, Ertapenem
0.02%, Fosfomicina 3.81%, Imipenem+Cilastatina 0.97%, Linezolid 0.11%,
Meropenem 45.88%, Piperacilina-Tazobactam 24.44%.
Introduction: The purpose of this study is to investigate the consumption
demand of antimicrobials in third world medical facilities during the 2020-
2022 period. Antimicrobials is a pharmaceutical produced agent that kills or
stops of the growth of microorganisms and commonly used to treat
pathological infections. Objective: To quantify the consumption of
antimicrobials based on AWaRe database from World Health Organization
during the 2021-2022 period. Methodology: A retrospective study was
carried out, using the quantitative method and cross-sectional design. The
investigation excluded non antimicrobial medication. To collect and run
statistical analysis on antimicrobial use, Microsoft Excel was utilized.
Results: The data indicated that the following antimicrobial medications were
in demand during 2021-2022: Cefepime 0.44%, Ceftazidime 0.19%,
Ceftazidime-Avibactam 0.65%, Ceftriaxone 1.54%, Ciprofloxacin 6.25%,
Clarithromycin 0.52%, Colistin 15.19%, Ertapenem 0.02%, Fosfomycin
3.81%, Imipenem+Cilastatina 0.97%, Linezolid 0.11%, Meropenem 45.88%,
Piperacillin-Tazobactam 24.44%. Conclusion: Health care personnel
knowledge on the use of antibiotic, the repeated misuse of the medication
leads to nosocomial infection. Educating the patient can avoid selfmedication or over-reliance that will reduce antimicrobial resistance.
