Dog care has been receiving increasing attention, therefore, specialized
services such as a blood bank are experiencing a commercial boom.
Therefore, the development of a business plan as a proposal for the creation
of a canine blood bank in the Province of Santa Elena is a vital need for dogs.
The creation of a center in the Province of Santa Elena, from the point of view
of feasibility, is of investigative relief. Several authors endorse the need for a
blood bank available to veterinarians and owners. A market study was carried
out considering 2 types of populations in Santa Elena: pet owners and
veterinarians in the area, applying a survey and interview, respectively. With
the results obtained, the importance of a blood bank is visualized, since it is a
valid alternative in cases of emergency, since the canines obtain a rapid
recovery. The evaluation of the context reveals few offers to buy pints of blood,
however, the requirement must be satisfied. The level of importance of the
services of a canine blood bank in Santa Elena is valued by ensuring that there
are cases that require blood transfusions, and the scarcity of this service would
limit correct treatment for the patient. In financial terms, the VAN and TIR
indicators showed that the project is feasible.
