Frecuencia de patologías oftalmológicas presentadas en caninos y felinos atendidas en dos clínicas veterinarias sector norte de Guayaquil.

Resumen
Las patologías oculares son frecuentes en los felinos y caninos, es de suma
importancia identificar la patología que presente la mascota, y realizarles
exámenes oftalmológicos para emitir un tratamiento adecuado tomando en
cuenta la historia clínica del paciente. El objetivo de este trabajo fue
determinar la frecuencia de patologías oftalmológicas presentadas en
pacientes caninos y felinos atendidos en dos clínicas veterinaria del sector
norte de Guayaquil. El tipo de estudio realizada en esta investigación fué
exploratoria con enfoque cuantitativo, de alcance descriptivo y correlacional,
no experimental, con una muestra de 113 casos, en el cual se determinó las
variables de raza, sexo y edad. En que se demostró en los caninos que la raza
mestiza fue la más frecuente con el 24 %, y la raza Shih tzu con más
predisposición con un total del 12.5 %, al igual que el estudio de Guzmán
2018, indicó que la raza más predisponente fue, el Puddle con el 12. 60 % y
el Shih tzu con un 13.44 %. En felinos el Común europeo pelo corto fué la raza
más frecuente con patologías oftalmológicas con un total del 70 %, además
se encontró que la edad mayor de 12 a 108 meses fué de mayor frecuencia
con el 64 % en la CV1 y 67 % en la CV2 en los felinos y en los caninos con
un valor del 55 % en la CV1 y con el 67 % en la CV2. Hubo mayor frecuencia
en machos de la especie canina con un porcentaje del 48 en la CV1 y en la
CV2 con el 49 %, en las hembras con un valor del 33 % en la CV1 y en la CV2
con el 40 %. Ocular pathologies are frequent in cats and dogs, it is of the utmost importance
to identify the pathology that the pet presents and perform ophthalmological
examinations to issue an adequate treatment considering the patient's clinical
history. The objective of this work was to determine the frequency of
ophthalmological pathologies presented in canine and feline patients treated
at two veterinary clinics in the northern sector of Guayaquil. The type of study
carried out in this investigation was exploratory with a quantitative approach,
descriptive and correlational in scope, non-experimental, with a sample of 113
cases, in which the variables of race, sex and age were determined. In which
it was shown in the canines that the mestizo breed was the most frequent with
24 %, and the Shih tzu breed with the most predisposition with a total of 12.5%,
as well as the study by Guzmán 2018, indicated that the most predisposing
breed was, the Puddle with 12.60 % and the Shih tzu with 13.44 %. In felines,
the Common European Shorthair was the most frequent breed with
ophthalmological pathologies with a total of 70 %, in addition it was found that
the age greater than 12 to 108 months was more frequent with 64 % in CV1
and 67 % in CV1. CV2 in felines and canines with a value of 55 % in CV1 and
67 % in CV2. There was a higher frequency in males of the canine species
with a percentage of 48 in CV1 and in CV2 with 49 %, in females with a value
of 33% in CV1 and in CV2 with 40 %.
