Este trabajo investigativo tiene la finalidad de dar a conocer si es o no viable la creación de un Departamento de Internacionalización en el Municipio del cantón Esmeraldas. El estudio es de carácter no experimental con un enfoque mixto, con dos instrumentos: encuesta y entrevistas, cuyo alcance es descriptivo. La vialidad de la creación del departamento se refleja en los marcos utilizados en la investigación y las entrevistas realizadas a funcionarios del municipio, cuyas preguntas eran afines de la internacionalización del municipio. Además, se realizó una encuesta a cuarenta emprendedores esmeraldeños, con el propósito de que estos permitan al investigador tener una visión más cercana a la realidad del emprendedor esmeraldeño y a partir de las respuestas, elaborar la propuesta que tiene como fin internacionalizar los emprendimientos. Los resultados muestran que, en efecto, la creación del Departamento de Internacionalización en el Municipio del cantón Esmeraldas, es necesaria. Además, se analizaron vías, estrategias, modalidades, con las que el proceso de internacionalización puede comenzar a trabajar. Esto permitirá que tanto el cantón de Esmeraldas como otras entidades, logren ver más allá de sus playas y que comiencen a aprovechar a su gente.This investigative work has the purpose of making known whether or not the creation of an Internationalization Department in the Municipality of the Esmeraldas canton is feasible. The study is non-experimental in nature with a mixed approach, with two instruments: survey and interviews, whose scope is descriptive. The feasibility of the creation of the department is reflected in the frameworks used in the investigation and the interviews with municipal officials, whose questions were related to the internationalization of the municipality. In addition, a survey was conducted of forty entrepreneurs from Esmeraldas, with the purpose of allowing the researcher to have a closer view of the reality of the entrepreneur from Esmeraldas and, based on the answers, prepare the proposal that aims to internationalize the enterprises. The results show that, in effect, the creation of the Internationalization Department in the Municipality of the Esmeraldas canton is necessary. In addition, ways, strategies, modalities were analyzed, with which the internationalization process can begin to work. This will allow both the canton of Esmeraldas and other entities to see beyond its beaches and begin to take advantage of its people.
