Marjory Gordon's theory allows us to know basic needs in people through functional pattern assessment. A study was carried out related to the Evaluation of the Self-perception-Self-Concept Pattern: body image, anxiety and depression in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy treatment in the External Consultation. Objective:To value the Pattern Self-perception-Auto concept. Materials and methods:the population consisted of 50 patients among men (24%) and women (76%); An age range from 18 to over 60; The
diagnosis of major treatment is breast cancer (38%)and prostate cancer (48%). Type of study:quantitative, prospective, transversal, descriptive. The application of the Gardner assessment scale for body image places
cancer patients at a level <6, defined by weight loss in 62% of patients as a result of treatment; The Montgomery-Asberg questionnaire shows the presence of depression; Tension, insomnia associated with somatic and muscular symptoms; 80% of patients present gastrointestinal problems, attention is drawn to the presence of dry mouth (46%); 80% grade 2 reduced appetite. The mood, emotional and couple status shows a degree 0 to 1; 38% grade 0-1 in inability to feel, 18%. They do not tend to suicide. Conclusion:this type of patients require continuous support before, during and after treatment in order to reduce some physiological and emotional aspects that influence recovery and continuity of treatment.
