Resumen
Los médicos y pediatras de familiares describen que los problemas de nariz, oído y garganta corresponden en un 40 y 49% de su práctica clínica en la atención primaria de salud. Objetivo: Determinar la incidencia de patologías rinosinusales en pacientes adultos que acuden a Consulta Externa del Servicio de otorrinolaringología en el Hospital Teodoro Maldonado Carbo desde Agosto a Octubre del 2016. Material y métodos: Estudio retrospectivo descriptivo de las atenciones en el Servicio de Otorrinolaringología del Hospital Teodoro Maldonado Carbo desde Agosto a Octubre del 2016. Se estudian datos demográficos, diagnósticos como síntomas y antecedentes. Resultados: Se analizan 273 pacientes. 109 pacientes (60%) correspondía al sexo masculino, y 164 (40%) al sexo femenino. El 50% del total estuvo en el grupo entre 15 y 40 años. La patología rinosinusal más frecuente fue la desviación septal con 43%. Hubo mucha relación con los pacientes que asisten subsecuentemente en un 63%, y con la clase social media-alta con 77%.Discusión:
Diversos porcentajes concuerdan con estudios epidemiológicos internacionales. Conclusión: Realizar una correcta distribución de recursos con el fin de optimizar su y disminuir costos innecesarios en el servicio de otorrinolaringología.
