Eficiencia de técnicas psicológicas en pacientes pediátricos frente a exodoncias en Semestre B 2015 UCSG.

Resumen
El miedo y ansiedad interfiere en el proceso del tratamiento odontológico, provocando el rechazo al mismo por parte del niño con las
consecuentes interrupciones y fracaso del tratamiento. Propósito: Determinar
la eficiencia de las técnicas psicológicas frente a exodoncias realizadas en
pacientes pediátricos y evaluar su ansiedad antes y después del tratamiento. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo de tipo transversal en niños de 4 a 10 años atendidos en la clínica odontológica UCSG (n=103) donde se observó las técnicas psicológicas empleadas y su relación con la conducta del paciente pediátrico durante la consulta dental. Resultados: La técnica de refuerzo positivo obtuvo una conducta definitivamente positiva en un 55%, un 54% de respuesta favorable y 54% de ansiedad leve posterior al
tratamiento. La técnica de comunicación no verbal reforzó al 100% las técnicas psicológicas. La ansiedad inicial disminuye después del tratamiento (95% de confiabilidad). Conclusión: La técnica de refuerzo positivo influye positivamente en la conducta del niño, presenta alta frecuencia de respuesta favorable y obtiene en mayor porcentaje una ansiedad leve después del tratamiento. La técnica de comunicación no verbal complementa a las demás técnicas. Recomendaciones: Analizar la relación entre la técnica psicológica
y la conducta del paciente por edad así como la ansiedad antes y después del tratamiento según el género en una muestra de mayor tamaño.
