Fundamentación de la propuesta de una revista digital para la Carrera de Comunicación Social de la Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil.

Resumen
Los estudiantes de comunicación se forman en la práctica. A partir de esta premisa surge la idea de diseñar un espacio propio, donde los futuros comunicadores puedan publicar sus trabajos periodísticos. Casi todas las universidades del mundo poseen revistas científicas o informativas, donde se publican investigaciones, novedades y actividades del
campus. Sin embargo, son pocas las instituciones que han apostado por el
poder de la tecnología al tener una versión completamente interactiva que se
pueda difundir a través del mundo con un bajo costo. La Carrera de Comunicación de la Universidad Católica de Santiago de
Guayaquil, a pesar de no tener una publicación oficial, ha incursionado en este
tipo de espacios, por medio de blogs creados por los estudiantes, a manera de
revistas virtuales en los últimos tres semestres. Lamentablemente, al término de
cada período, estos sitios han quedado inactivos. Es así que se complementa la idea inicial con el concepto de crear una sola
revista digital oficial de la Carrera, donde los estudiantes de todos los ciclos
puedan hacer públicos los trabajos que realizan para las diferentes materias.
Esos trabajos de calidad que, por lo general, sólo los lee el profesor y mueren
en el aula de clases. Para llegar a la propuesta de la revista digital, se realizó un diagnóstico sobre los blogs y el interés de los estudiantes ante la creación de una revista oficial de la Carrera de Comunicación. Luego, con la ayuda de docentes, ex alumnos y expertos en el tema, se propusieron las estrategias para lograr que el sitio funcione y se mantenga en el tiempo con la constante participación de los
estudiantes.
