Diseño de mezclas de concreto con ceniza de cascarilla de arroz para emplearlo en proyectos de vivienda de bajo costo

Resumen
El aumento continuo en la demanda de vivienda en nuestro país y principalmente en
áreas deprimidas económicamente, obliga a la ingeniería a presentar alternativas que
disminuyan los costos de los materiales sin disminuir sus características de resistencia y durabilidad. Uno de los materiales más utilizados en la construcción de viviendas es el concreto, siendo el cemento el elemento más costoso en su elaboración. Para disminuir el costo del cemento en la elaboración del concreto, se puede reemplazar un porcentaje de éste con puzolanas que son elementos que contienen sílice y alúminas
que mejoran las propiedades del concreto, dentro de las puzolanas está la ceniza de
cascarilla de arroz. La ceniza de cascarilla de arroz es un desecho agrícola, con la característica principal de
que posee propiedades químicas que cuando se la mezcla con el cemento para la
elaboración de hormigones, aumenta la resistencia de éste y por ende se mejoran todas sus demás características. Por lo que para poblaciones de bajos recursos económicos, principalmente en zonas
agrícolas y/o productoras de arroz, se pueden elaborar con hormigones con ceniza de
cascarilla de arroz, proyectos urbanísticos de viviendas de tipo social de bajo costo.
