Valoración de la atención pre-quirúrgica de pacientes hipertensos programados para cirugías odontológicas : propuesta de protocolo de atención

Resumen
La hipertensión arterial (HTA) es la elevación anormal y sostenida de la presión arterial sistémica : si no es controlada se asocia con un significativo aumento de la morbilidad y mortalidad, es uno de los factores de riesgo de mayor de mayor importancia para la enfermedad coronaria y para la enfermedad cerebrovascular. Puede ser asintomática para largos períodos pero finalmente lleva a un daño en órganos que incluyen riñón, corazón, cerebro y ojos. El odontólogo debería considerar esta patología como un factor importante para la presencia de complicaciones durante un evento quirúrgico.
