Atención de enfermería a pacientes adolescentes primigestas de 14-16 años, con anemia ferropénica en la consulta externa del Hospital Enrique C. Sotomayor, de diciembre del 2011 a marzo del 2012

Resumen
La anemia ferropénica está considerada como un problema de salud pública, según la Organización Mundial de la Salud, está asociada a diversos factores como dieta inadecuada con bajo contenido de hierro.
La población, se compone de adolescentes primigestas de 14 a 16 años,
diagnosticadas con anemia ferropénica, que por lo general tienen un estado socio económico bajo. En la mayor parte de las primigestas adolescentes con anemia, los signos y síntomas son escasos y con
frecuencia no se distinguen en el embarazo, estos casos se detectan por determinaciones frecuentes de hemoglobina y hematocrito antes del parto hace que las embarazadas sean susceptibles a infecciones e incrementa el riesgo de hemorragia en el puerperio. Muchas adolescentes desconocen sobre esta complicación del embarazo y de sus riesgos,
inexistencia de campañas educativas y de concientización para reducir, prevenir y tratar la anemia ferropénica en la adolescente embarazada. Investigación descriptiva y modalidad de campo, aplicación de encuestas para conocer nivel de conocimiento del tema y tratamiento. La propuesta comprende la realización de charlas educativas y entrega de folletos para dar a conocer este problema que afecta por lo general al 80% de los embarazos, para la capacitación y educación a las jóvenes y contribuir a la reducción de los índices de morbi-mortalidad materna-infanti.
