| dc.description | O trabalho aborda a leitura literária do adolescente e emprega um estudo de caso para verificar possíveis interesses em literatura do jovem contemporâneo. No referencial teórico discorre sobre os temas da leitura não-instrumental, literatura para jovens, adolescência, subjetividade e comportamento e necessidades informacionais do adolescente. Como métodos de coleta de dados utiliza um grupo focal, realizado com cinco jovens de uma escola pública de Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul; duas entrevistas com especialistas no assunto, bibliotecárias cujo exercício profissional envolve o público jovem; e pesquisa bibliográfica sobre os tópicos mais importantes levantados no grupo focal. Pondera sobre os fatores que podem influenciar os gostos em literatura, como o contexto social e a geração do leitor, ressaltando, no entanto, que não há padrões possíveis. Fala também sobre a atual literatura juvenil, leitura literária na web, leitura versus a internet e cinema e a censura a livros de ficção. Conclui que o adolescente necessita, primordialmente, se identificar com o que lê, visto que se encontra numa fase de construção e busca da própria identidade. Acorda que a leitura literária, quando provida de real interesse e assim capaz de produzir sentido para o leitor, constitui-se num ato essencialmente subjetivo, de encontro com a subjetividade pessoal e, portanto, especialmente benéfico para o sujeito em formação. | |
| dc.description | The study deals with adolescent literature reading nowadays. It uses a case study to verify possible literature interests of the contemporary adolescent. It discourses about non-instrumental reading, young-adult fiction, adolescence, subjectivity and adolescent’s information behavior and needs. As data collecting methods it employs the focus group methodology that was applied in a public school in Porto Alegre (Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil), and included five teenagers; two interviews were also conducted with specialists (librarians who work with young public); a bibliographic research was also conducted about the most important topics that came up in the focus group. It ponders on influential factors that may interfere in the literature interests, as social context and the reader’s generation, although there are no possible standards. The study also discusses the modern young-adult fiction, literature reading on the web, reading versus internet and cinema, and fictional books censorship. It concludes that adolescents need to identify with what they read, since they are at a stage of construction of their own identity. The reading of literature, when of real interest, is capable of making sense to the reader, and constitutes an essentially subjective act, providing an encounter with the reader’s own subjectivity and, because of all that, is especially beneficial for the character in formation. | |
