dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this research work is to analyze the constitutional and conventional foundations in which the internet is recognized as a public service and as a human right; in such a way that, based on said analysis, it’s possible categorization as a basic service in the Republic of Ecuador can be established. In addition, the Ecuadorian reality is detailed, clarifying access, scope and coverage data that we Ecuadorians have regarding the internet service. In a special way, it is pointed out how beneficial it is to have access to the aforementioned service since it allows us to materialize the exercise of other rights and services, and at the same time the obligations that the Ecuadorian State has towards the citizenry at the moment of guaranteeing such access.
