Cosmología andina y estética grotesca en la representación pictórica de los personajes navideños de la cultura Saraguro

Abstract

The present work entitled "ANDEAN COSMOLOGY AND GROTESQUE AESTHETICS IN THE PICTORICAL REPRESENTATION OF THE CHRISTMAS CHARACTERS OF THE SARAGURO CULTURE", is an investigative and practical contribution, which through the study of the Saraguro culture and its Christmas festivity (Kapak Raymi), seeks to reinforce Andean beliefs with the grotesque representation of festive characters: Wiki, Aja, Oso, León and Paileros; contributing to cultural recovery through plastic art. The research is carried out through the analytical and deductive methodology based on the active and exploratory presence of an ethnographic nature, in the festive contexts of Kapak Raymi, along with historical-cultural and artistic information on grotesque aesthetics, analyzed through theoretical and practical as compositional, chromatic and technical support on the processes of pictorial representation.
