Resumen
The present research work had as its main objective the validation of the Kjeldahl
Total Nitrogen and Potassium tests in soils. The study was carried out at the Soil
Laboratory of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences, aiming to ensure the reliability of
the results obtained through the applied methods.
The evaluated validation parameters included precision, accuracy and limits of
detection and quantification, and were calculated based on the data obtained in the
laboratory under conditions of repeatability and reproducibility. The results for the
Kjeldahl Total Nitrogen test were accuracy "<4%" of coefficient of variation; "≥95%"
accuracy of recovery; limit of detection "≤0,5" "mg" ⁄"kg”; limit of quantification
"≤1,65" "mg" ⁄"kg”. The results for the Potassium test were accuracy "<1%" of
coefficient of variation; "≥98%" accuracy of recovery; limit of detection "0,3" "mg"
⁄"kg”; limit of quantification "1,03" "mg" ⁄"kg”. For the analysis of Total Kjeldahl
Nitrogen, the laboratory report from Gruentec was taken as a reference, while for
the analysis of Potassium, the laboratory report from Agroanalysis was considered.
The results obtained for each trial meet the validation objectives that were set
respectively, so both methods can be declared as validated.
