dc.description.abstractViolence against women is a public health problem that disturbs their well-being. Nursing must be prepared for their attention, demonstrating scientific knowledge and appropriate attitudes. Objective: To determine the existing associations between the level of knowledge, attitudes and sociodemographic factors of the nursing staff in the care of women victims of domestic violence in the 03D01 district. Methodology: a quantitative cross-sectional analytical design was applied, whose universe was the first and second level nursing staff of the 03D01 district, corresponding to 287 people. Two validated instruments containing the knowledge questionnaire and the attitude scale were used. The data were analyzed in the statistical program PSPP version 1.4. Results: 64.8% are between 30 and 59 years old, 87.8% are female and 42.2% are single. 61.7% work as nursing graduates, 21.3% assistants, 10.1% nursing interns and 6.6% rural nursing. The level of knowledge is medium in 45.6% and 96.2% have a favorable attitude. There was a statistically significant relationship between level of knowledge and instruction (p= ˂0.001); attitudes and years of experience (p= ˂0.001); attitudes and instruction (p= ˂0.015); there was no relationship between knowledge and attitudes (p=423) Conclusions: the nursing staff has a medium level of knowledge and a favorable attitude to care for victims of violence. There is no relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes. The level of instruction is related to the level of knowledge and attitude and years of experience with attitude.
