Resumen
The associative sector in Ecuador represents 82.74% of the popular and solidarity economy.
In Zone 6 of this sector there are different ventures that constantly face a multitude of
challenges and changes in the market due to various factors that influence their performance.
The main objective of this paper is to develop a model to assess the current maturity of the
social, organizational, and technological determinants of a sample of associations in Zone 6
of Ecuador. The maturity model is based on variables related to the determinants of study and
integrates the human needs proposed by Max-Neef. From this an instrument has been
developed that evaluates the perceptions of the associates about the activities carried out by
their association. The instrument has been validated by expert judgment and the KoboToolbox
platform has been used for its application. The assignment and validation of weights of the
determinants has been carried out through a panel of experts. For the establishment of
maturity levels the modified nomenclature of the levels of the CMM has been used and
information processing has been executed with the K-means algorithm. The operation of the
maturity model has been tested in 47 associations of Zone 6 of the country and its validation
has been carried out with associations belonging to different economic sectors, achieving an
adequate approximation to its reality in terms of maturity of the determinants studied.
