Resumen
This research encompasses murderers in a Center of Deprivation of Liberty,
sociodemographic and judicial variables, symptoms and attitudes present in the treatment,
considering the purpose of the Center to comply with an assigned sentence and, through a
treatment plan implemented by prison staff, achieve a desired rehabilitation and subsequent
appropriate social reintegration. The general objective of this research is to determine which
scales related to symptoms and attitudes during treatment prevail in the male prison population
serving sentences for murder at the Center of Deprivation of Liberty, Azuay No. 1, Ecuador in
the year 2023. The study has a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional
design, and a descriptive scope. It worked with a population of 51 male individuals serving
sentences for murder at the Center of Deprivation of Liberty, Azuay No. 1, Ecuador, in the year
2023. For this purpose, the instruments applied were the Personality Assessment Inventory
(PAI) and a bio-sociodemographic-judicial form. As a result, it is determined that there is a
slight rejection of treatment in the scales related to symptoms, and in terms of attitudes, the
scale of aggressiveness prevails.
