Resumen
The article translates knowledge and ancestral trades in the province of Manabí, whose objective
is to promote the dialogue of knowledge and intercultural relations, both based on the socio-
cultural imaginaries of the city and the academy, as a form of knowledge production interlacing
own knowledge and universal knowledge. For the purpose, the trades of midwives and coffee
gatherers are addressed, the same ones that as historical and cultural evidence have complemented
the socio-economic development of their environments, opening possibilities to other ways of
being and acting. The research qualitative, goes to ethnography as a tool, making use of
participant observation and interviews, achieved with the contribution of students of the
semester of Ecotourism degree - March /
