Prevalencia de los delitos sexuales y factores desencadenantes en casos de abuso sexual y violencia sexual con violación en niños, niñas y adolescentes del Instituto de Criminalística, Criminología e Intervención Psicosocial Familiar, de la Universidad de Cuenca, en el período 2020-2023

Abstract

In Ecuador, it is established that cases of abuse, assault and rape must be taken to legal processes, which a priori must generate different social approach plans due to the wide need that these generate, such as in the city of Cuenca, where this was carried out. investigation. The objective of the work was to describe the prevalence and triggering factors in cases of sexual abuse and sexual violence with rape in children and adolescents of the Institute of Criminalistics, Criminology and Family Psychosocial Intervention, of the University of Cuenca, in the period 2020-2023. We worked with the 19 cases registered in the database of the Institute of Criminalistics, Criminology and Family Psychosocial Intervention, of the University of Cuenca. The approach was quantitative, the scope was descriptive, the type of design was non-experimental and retrospective. The instruments used were documentary review and data collection form. The results obtained indicate that the most frequent type of offense was sexual abuse, with the highest figures in the year 2021, the sex that suffered the most from sexual abuse and sexual violence with rape is female and the sex that committed these offenses in all cases it was male. The maximum age of cases in children and adolescents was 17 years and the minimum was 7 years; and the annual prevalence of registered cases is low, although this phenomenon is alarming no matter how low the figures are.
