Resumen
The study was carried out in the area of the Quevedo canton, in the Experimental property “La Represa” of the UTEQ; in the permanent experimental parcels of ten years old. Each parcel has a surface of 225 m2 (15 x 15 m). The trees are established under a spacing of 3 x 3 m. For the contribution of fallen leaves samples were gathered monthly during one year with the use of gathering traps. It was determined the quantity of fallen leaves for season year (humid and dry) and transfer of nutritious (N, P, K, Ca, Mg). The contribution of fallen leaves was highest in the dry season. The transfer of nutrients was bigger in the species: mountain mahogany (Colubrina arborecens Mill) with 139.29, Gmelina (Gmelina arbórea Roxb) with 10.32, mountain cedar (Ocotea floribunda (Sw) Mez) with 64.88 and marañón (Anacardium excelsum (Kunth) Skeels) with 216.89 and 29.87 kg ha-1 año-1 of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, respectively.
