Neste trabalho, pretendi realizar uma abordagem sobre a imagem do corpo feminino, das suas relações com a arte, subjetividades nas relações sociais de gênero e de poder, contextualizando possibilidades e reflexões a partir da análise da representação renascentista do nascimento de Vênus por Botticelli. Por meio da pesquisa de imagens de Vênus, seja no campo da arte ou da publicidade, busquei propor uma reflexão/discussão acerca dos valores, simbolismos e conceitos que abarcam a leitura da representação do corpo da mulher em nossa cultura visual, com o objetivo de demonstrar a construção de discursos de dominação social semelhantes, que podem contribuir na formação de um papel/função social predominante e estereotipado atribuído às mulheres, bem como o poder da imagem reproduzida pela arte e pela publicidade na legitimação dos comportamentos sociais atribuídos aos gêneros.In this paper, I intended to make a study about the woman's body image, its relationship with art, subjectivity in the social relations of gender and power, contextualizing ideas and possibilities from the analysis of Renaissance representation of The Birth of Venus by Botticelli. By searching for Venus images, whether in art or advertising, I propose a reflection and discussion on values, on symbolism and concepts involving the reading of the representation of woman body in our visual culture. This reflection aims to demonstrate a constructive speech of a similar social domination, which can contribute in the social function and stereotyped attributed to women, as well as the power of the reproduced image, whether by art or by advertising in the legitimation of social behavior attributed to the role of gender.
