| dc.description | The research was carried out in Santan Grande neighborhood, Ignacio Flores Parish,
Latacunga Canton, with the aim of evaluating the effect of the aqueous extract of Higuerilla
seed (Ricinus communis L.) for the pre-sowing control of weeds in the crop of chocho. For
this, a divided plots design was used that consisted of 6 treatments with three repetitions with
a total of 18 experimental units.The total area of the research was 215 m2.
It was proposed the characterization from the botanical point of view and the raw material
used for the elaboration of the organic herbicide. It was determined the most effective dose
of the aqueous extract of fig seed in the control of weeds in pre-sowing of the chocho crop,
and the cost of implementation of three herbicides.In the field, it was evaluated the
percentage of weed control per determined area and incidence of weeds, which were
evaluated by the quadrant method at 7, 14 and 21 days.
Obtaining the following results; the collected vegetal material corresponds to the species
Ricinus communis L. of the Ecuadorian White variety. Respect to the population index of
arvenses the presence of 16 species was found.For the percentage of survival and final control
it was registered in T1: 47% survival and 53% control. In T2: 86% survival with a 15%
control, in T3: 122% survival and -22% control. In T4: 115% survival and -15% control, for
T5: 0% survival with a 100% control. Finally in T6: 10% survival with a 90% control of the

| dc.description | La investigación se llevó a cabo en el Barrio Santan Grande de la Parroquia Ignacio Flores
perteneciente al Cantón Latacunga, con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto del extracto acuoso
de semilla de Higuerilla (Ricinus communis L.) para el control pre-siembra de malezas en
el cultivo de chocho, se empleó un diseño de parcelas divididas que consta de 6 tratamientos
con tres repeticiones con un total de 18 unidades experimentales, el área total de la
investigación fue 215 m2. Se propuso la caracterización desde el punto de vista botánico la
materia prima utilizada para la elaboración del herbicida orgánico, se determinó la dosis más
efectiva del extracto acuoso de semilla de higuerilla en el control de malezas en pre-siembra
del cultivo de chocho, el costo de implementación de tres herbicidas. En campo se evaluó el
Porcentaje de control de maleza por área determinada e incidencia de malezas, que fueron
evaluados por el método del cuadrante a los 7, 14 y 21 días.
Obteniendo los siguientes resultados; el material vegetal colectado corresponde a la especie
Ricinus communis L. de la variedad Blanca Ecuatoriana, con respecto al índice poblacional
de arvenses se halló la presencia de 16 especies. Para el porcentaje de supervivencia y control
final se registró en el T1:47% supervivencia y 53% de control, en el T2 una supervivencia
del 86% con un control del 15%, el T3: supervivencia 122% y -22% de control, el T4: una
supervivencia del 115% y -15% de control, para el T5: 0% de supervivencia con un control
del 100%, finalmente se registró en el T6: una supervivencia de 10% con un control del 90%
de la población inicial de arvenses. | |
