Las condiciones urbanas, viales y de transporte son un grupo de aspectos que se ven relacionados entre sí, lo que es capaz de producir una reacción positiva o negativa en función del estado de cualquiera de ellas y por ende de la calidad de vida de las personas que se desarrollan en ese entorno urbano y vial. Esta situación se hace presente en el cantón Manta en el que se evidencia una constante necesidad en aspectos relacionados con el confort, la seguridad y el bienestar integral de los elementos intervinientes en el transporte público de la misma. Por esta razón los esfuerzos de la investigación direccionados por los métodos deductivo, analítico y descriptivo se volcaron al área de estudio, su historia y características de movilidad, así como también a un marco teórico en el que se ven expuestos los puntos que envuelven la premisa del transporte público de manera general. Mediante un análisis fue posible la comparación de información bibliográfica con el producto estadístico obtenido del proceso investigativo que dieron como resultado un diagnóstico de la realidad del transporte público en la ciudad de Manta basado en la percepción sus usuarios. Esto permitió describir las falencias del sistema y las características más adecuadas para el mejoramiento de este, dando como resultado un sin número de beneficios que aumentan la calidad de vida de la población del canto y su medio ambiente.
