| dc.description | Desde la antigüedad hasta nuestros días, el espacio público es la esencia de lo urbano, es el lugar de encuentro e intercambio, alienta la participación de las personas y beneficia las prácticas urbanas. La parroquia “Ángel Pedro Giler” perteneciente al Cantón Tosagua, dispone de espacios públicos claves en su identidad, que poco a poco han ido malográndose y perdiendo vitalidad. El documento actual corresponde al análisis del deterioro progresivo en el espacio público debido a la discontinuidad de este, perjudicando la identidad de la parroquia y evitando que sus habitantes perciban el espacio público como suyo. En definitiva, el estudio concluye que el lugar pierde protagonismo si es opacado por la falta de mantenimiento de su contexto, y recuperar el espacio supone establecer un hito referencial de un lugar con identidad cultural, con espacios adecuados para el desarrollo de la comunidad. ABSTRACT From ancient times to the present day, public space is the essence of the urban, it is the place for meeting and exchange, it encourages people's participation and benefits urban practices. The parish "Angel Pedro Giler" belonging to the Canton of Tosagua, has key public spaces in its identity, which have been gradually spoiled and losing vitality. The current document corresponds to the analysis of the progressive deterioration in public space due to its discontinuity, damaging the identity of the parish and preventing its inhabitants from perceiving public space as their own. For this reason, the main objective is to diagnose the state of spatial deterioration in which the consolidated hull of the parish is found and to respond with an architectural design that favors the public sphere. In short, the study concludes that the place loses prominence if it is overshadowed by the lack of maintenance of its context and recovering the space means establishing a landmark of a place with cultural identity, with adequate spaces for the development of the community.
