dc.description | The objective of this study is to improve communication in the “Juan Antonio Vergara Alcívar Educational Unit in the city of Junín, Manabí province, by designing an IP telephony network. The Riverbed Modeler Academic software was used for the physical design and simulations with the intention of obtaining the metrics and measurements that indicate the quality of the services proposed for the optimization of communications. With the help of RiverBed, the expected responses regarding the proposed service were obtained with the help of mathematical models that specified the metrics. The graphical and statistical indicators obtained from the network simulation in IPv4 and IPv6 were normal and comply with the functionality and quality of the services desired for the educational institution. There will be a correct functioning of the IP telephony network, guaranteeing voice and data traffic, for the physical distribution of the| network the star topology was used, reducing delay, saturation, packet loss and other parameters, improving performance from the network and generates sufficient responses from applications and servers. dc.description | El objetivo de este estudio es mejorar la comunicación en la Unidad Educativa “Juan Antonio Vergara Alcívar” de la ciudad de Junín provincia de Manabí, realizando el diseño de una red de telefonía IP. Se utilizó el software Riverbed Modeler Academic, para el diseño físico y simulaciones con la intención de obtener las métricas y mediciones que indiquen calidad de los servicios propuestos para la optimización de las comunicaciones. Con la ayuda de RiverBed se obtuvieron las respuestas esperadas en cuanto al servicio propuesto con la ayuda de modelos matemáticos que precisaron las métricas. Los indicadores gráficos y estadísticos obtenidos de la simulación de red en Ipv4 e Ipv6 fueron normales y cumplen con la funcionalidad y calidad en los servicios deseados para la institución educativa. Se tendrá un correcto funcionamiento de la red de telefonía IP, garantizando tráfico de voz y datos, para la distribución física de la red se utilizó la topología estrella, reduciendo el retardo, la saturación, la pérdida de paquetes y otros parámetros, mejora el rendimiento de la red y genera suficientes respuestas de las aplicaciones y servidores.
