The present work carries a systematization of bibliographic review results on applied psychology that, although it is a tremendously broad discipline, it can be expressed that this concept refers to the practical aspect of Psychology. Unlike Applied Psychology, Psychology in general does not necessarily deal with intervention, but rather studies mental processes and behavior. The need to carry out this research is based on the existing problem of different psychological discomforts present in people, together with the difficulty of professional assistance in the field of Psychology that results in people with imbalance in their health in general, taking into account that the individual is a bio-psycho-social entity and the alteration of any of his environments in which he develops is manifested in alterations in his mental health. Through the literature review, a general appreciation of mental health can be obtained, thus contributing with information that may be useful for research purposes. Keywords: Applied psychology, mental health, behavior, mental processes.El presente trabajo lleva una sistematización de resultados de revisión bibliográfica sobre la psicología aplicada que, si bien es una disciplina tremendamente amplia, se puede expresar que este concepto está referido a la vertiente práctica de la Psicología. A diferencia de la Psicología Aplicada, la Psicología en general no se ocupa necesariamente de la intervención, sino que estudia los procesos mentales y la conducta. La necesidad de la realización de esta investigación se basa en la problemática existente de diferentes malestares psicológicos presente en las personas, junto a esto la dificultad de asistencia profesional en el campo de la Psicología que da como consecuencia personas con desequilibrio en su salud en general, teniendo en cuenta que el individuo es un ente bio-psico-social y la alteración de alguno de sus medios en el que se desenvuelve se manifiesta en alteraciones en su salud mental. Mediante la revisión de literatura se puede obtener una apreciación general de la salud mental, contribuyendo de esta forma con información que pueda ser útil para los fines investigativos.
