ABSTRACT:
The objective of this study was to assess whether women fulfill their paradigmatic role in home, despite having an extended workday in Manta’s Canton during the period 2020. This research with a mixed qualitative-quantitative approach of an explanatory/ descriptive type, the survey technique was used with a sample of 347 women of productive age, in addition to this, interviews were conducted with women in strategic positions and different hierarchical positions to distinguish functions from different perspectives. The results reveals that women indeed continue to fulfill their paradigmatic roles, and allows us to distinguish that 47.8% of women report feeling tired after their paid workday, and arriving at their homes causes stress due to the activities they must do, sometimes carried out without any support. Assessing the life quality that these women aspire to have, and how difficult it is to achieve the proposed objectives, can also be associated with the exhaustion that these women present. In conclusion, it was possible to verify that the workload in women is greater than that of men, since women are the ones who feel full responsibility for care, education, and life quality improvement. With this research it was also evident that women, despite facing new challenges day by day, have a positive attitude towards new challenges and do not resign until achieving their objectives.
