ABSTRACT:
This article focuses on domestic violence and violence against women, since it is a problem that affects the family as an institution of greater importance for the human being and society in general, as it has irreplaceable functions such as care, protection, education, and preservation of its members. Currently, Colombia, like the rest of the world, faces a pandemic caused by COVID-19, this fact causes violence within the family and against girls, adolescents and women, to take on new dimensions compared to mandatory isolation measures, as they are exposed to be permanently with their spouses, usually their potential aggressors; especially when the surrounding context is marked by unfavorable socio-economic conditions, with difficulties in accessing essential mental health, justice and shelter services, leading to vulnerability, higher levels of dependency and an increase in the cycle of violence against him (Corporación SISMA Mujer, 2020). Given this reality, it is necessary to reorient the ways of addressing this problem, requiring the redefinition of social intervention strategies from innovative, comprehensive, educational, and socio-therapeutic approaches; strengthening the professionals in charge of responding to the demands of this population, in order to update their care schemes supported by new communication technologies.
